Secretary General’s Address
Welcome and cheers to diplomacy! Arizona Model United Nations is a student-run organization built on a steadfast commitment to the principles of international debate and diplomacy. Founded in 1963 by Professor Clifton E. Wilson, we are one of the longest standing organizations at the University of Arizona and as such have instilled a tradition of excellence among our students. We are a group of hard-working students engaged year round in international collegiate conferences simulating the various UN organs and committees in an attempt to learn, lead, and revel in the world of international politics. Similarly, in the Spring Semester, we host a Model United Nations conference for High School Students from around the Southwestern U.S. and Northern Mexico, conducting committees in both English and Spanish. We are a dedicated and lively bunch of students with a passion for international exposure and understanding. If you are at all interested in international affairs, politics, or simply meeting some interesting people who are knowledgeable about the global state of affairs, please join us for a year of debate, diplomacy, and as always, debauchery. If interested in joining AzMUN or if you have any questions at all, please feel free to contact me via email at arizonamun@gmail.com or wmthoman@email.arizona.edu .
