Welcome, Bienvenidos, and Dia Dhuit! My name is William Thoman, and is my supreme pleasure to welcome you to our club, Arizona Model United Nations, an organization dedicated to debate and discussion of international issues. My name is William Thoman and I have the distinct honor of serving as the club’s Secretary General. I am a senior studying Political Science and Latin American Studies, and I have a deep passion for learning about the world, its people, and its struggles. Whether this is in the form of studying abroad in Guatemala, helping refugees in Tucson, or meeting fellow club members from all around the globe, I have tried my best to become a citizen of the world. This will be my eighth year involved and Model UN and I can say it has been one of the best experiences of my life. I have made more great friends and memories than I can count, and I look forward to making more this year. As leader of this amazing club I hope to serve you in giving you an experience of the same quality as mine. As our club expands and grows beyond the dreams of its founders I know that we will keep the original spirit and camaraderie that has made our club one of the oldest and most distinguished on campus. May we have a splendid year of debate and diplomacy.
